This project involved the end-to-end design of a suite of ESG infographics for Mastercard’s ESG Report, translating complex sustainability goals and progress metrics into a clear, accessible visual system. The infographics span Mastercard’s three ESG pillars - People, Prosperity and Planet - and present key targets, milestones and outcomes through a consistent editorial language. The work balances data clarity with illustration-led storytelling, creating visuals that are informative, human, and aligned with Mastercard’s brand.

The design approach centred on using layout, colour and illustration to guide readers through dense information without overwhelming them. Strong typographic hierarchy, modular content blocks and clear data visualisations were used to support scanning and comparison across sections, while a restrained colour palette helped differentiate themes and reinforce meaning

Illustrations were integrated not as decoration, but as narrative devices - grounding abstract metrics in human and environmental contexts. The design system for this specific report was designed to be flexible, allowing individual sections and data points to be easily repurposed into social cards and digital assets while maintaining visual coherence across formats.
